Job Description

A vertically integrated premium cannabis company with presence in multiple states is currently seeking a new General Manager to join their team in Kansas City, MO. The General Manager will lead the Kansas City location, reporting directly to the VP of Retail. This location is seeking a dynamic leader who can drive a turnaround by setting clear expectations, coaching and inspiring the team, and rebuilding performance. The ideal candidate is data-driven, focused on customer experience, and committed to driving sales, training, and operational excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead daily dispensary operations, ensuring compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations.
• Oversee all product handling, including receipt, storage, packaging, labeling, and dispensing in line with legal requirements.
• Drive store performance by managing sales, revenue, margins, and customer experience.
• Hire, train, schedule, and develop staff while fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
• Maintain strong industry knowledge and provide ongoing education to staff and customers on products, strains, and consumption methods.

Required Skills & Experience

• Cannabis experience is preferred
• Proven leadership experience managing retail operations, ideally in cannabis or a highly regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of state and local compliance requirements with the ability to ensure strict adherence.
• Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing sales, margins, and customer metrics to drive performance.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with staff, customers, and company leadership.
• Ability to recruit, coach, and develop high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
