Hospice Music Therapist

Our client is seeking a compassionate Music Therapist to join their Hospice care team in Troy, MI. This role focuses on providing professional music therapy services to patients in end-of-life care, supporting emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being through evidence-based music interventions. The ideal candidate will have experience in geriatric or hospice settings and a strong ability to connect with patients and families through music.
Responsibilities include conducting music therapy sessions, developing individualized therapy goals as part of patient assessments, facilitating emotional support through interactive music experiences, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team. The therapist will also educate staff, patients, and families about the role and benefits of music therapy in hospice care.

Required qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program
Current Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC)
Licensed to practice Music Therapy in the State of Michigan
One or more years of experience in hospice, palliative, geriatric, or healthcare settings
Strong musical proficiency and the ability to engage patients therapeutically through live music
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
