Job Description

Company: Commercial Landscape Maintenance Company

Location: Tampa/Sarasota, FL
Recruiter: Represented by Bloom Talent Solutions
Search: Confidential Replacement

Position Overview

Bloom Talent Solutions is seeking a hands-on and leadership-driven Irrigation Manager to rebuild, structure, and lead the irrigation division across the Tampa/Sarasota market. This is a high-impact role responsible for bringing organization, accountability, and technical excellence to a currently underperforming department.

The organization is experiencing customer loss due to inconsistent irrigation service, lack of oversight, and the absence of a formal irrigation program. The ideal candidate is a capable leader and strong technician who can assess the current environment quickly, implement structure, and build a scalable, high-performing irrigation operation.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Rebuild

  • Build a full irrigation program from the ground up—systems, processes, standards, and workflows.
  • Create SOPs for wet checks, scheduling, diagnostics, communication, and invoicing.
  • Develop performance KPIs for the irrigation team, including turnaround time and service quality.
  • Implement systems for routing, inventory management, reporting, and dispatch rhythms.
  • Align irrigation operations with broader branch and maintenance goals.

People Leadership

  • Directly manage a team of 5 irrigation technicians and eliminate self-dispatching.
  • Lead morning dispatch, daily check-ins, ride-alongs, coaching, and performance management.
  • Build a culture of urgency, professionalism, and consistent execution.

Technical Oversight

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot irrigation systems, including traditional and two-wire systems.
  • Ensure high-quality repairs, retrofits, clock adjustments, and audits.
  • Oversee wet checks and enforce accountability to increase completion rates.
  • Collaborate with the enhancement division, supporting irrigation-related project work.
  • Improve reliability across CDD and HOA portfolios.

Operational Excellence

  • Improve operational discipline—current state shows only 12 wet checks completed in a month.
  • Implement visibility into hours, job tracking, revenue, and technician performance.
  • Support ERP and operational system transitions (Aspire or similar platforms).
  • Create a structured workflow to stabilize customer satisfaction and retention.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven irrigation experience (service, diagnostics, troubleshooting).
  • Leadership experience managing irrigation technicians or field teams.
  • Ability to build structure, process, and accountability from scratch.
  • Hands-on approach with strong communication and follow-through.
  • Ability to lead dispatch daily and maintain operational discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience servicing Florida CDD and HOA accounts.
  • Background with large operators such as BrightView, Mainscape, Juniper, Sperber, or similar.
  • Understanding of irrigation financials, productivity, and reporting (or willingness to learn).

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $85,000–$100,000 (depending on experience and technical depth)
Vehicle: Company truck or vehicle allowance
Benefits: Full benefits package available through employer
