Position Title: Middle School Movement and Dance Teacher (IMMEDIATE OPENING)

Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston. We are a PreK-12 school serving up to 1,250 students. Position : Middle School Dance and Movement Teacher (IMMEDIATE OPENING)

Location : Boston, MA (Jamaica Plain Campus)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Match has an immediate opening for a full-time Dance and Movement Teacher who can help continue to build the arts program at Match Middle School. The position is based at Matchs middle school campus on 215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain and entails designing and delivering a curriculum for middle school students who will have Arts classes during the regular school day. Working hours are Monday-Friday, 7am-2:45pm. Professional development on Wednesdays runs until 4:30pm. 

The salary range for teachers new to Match is $61,812-98,899 and is determined by the candidates prior years of full-time teaching experience. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of employee health insurance costs and up to $150/month in loan repayment assistance.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Dance and Movement Teacher will offer a mix of engaging and interactive classes with a curriculum appropriate for middle school students.  There is a budget available for equipment and supplies. 

The Dance and Movement Teacher will:

• Design curriculum and teach Dance and Movement classes
• Teach classes at multiple grade levels
• Assist with duties to uphold a positive and safe school culture
• Participate in regular professional development, coaching sessions, and faculty meetings
• Performs other duties assigned as a member of the school faculty

• Has at least 1-3 years prior experience as a Dance and Movement teacher, ideally with middle school students
• Meet teacher certification requirements set by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or can meet the certification requirements within a year of date of hire;
• Articulate a clear vision for a middle school school Movement and Dance curriculum
• Demonstrate skill in designing and delivering lessons
• Demonstrate skill in building effective relationships with students and colleagues
• Hold a deep belief that all students can and will succeed
• Possess a desire to continually improve their practice as an educator by taking and implementing feedback
