Job Summary and Responsibilities

Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) is seeking a Sports Medicine Surgeon/Physician to join its expanding Orthopedic department.

• Based out of clinics in Central, West and East Valley Phoenix.
• Monday-Friday. Minimum of two clinic days per week.
• High School football game coverage required.
• Grand Canyon University club sports coverage.
• Grand Canyon University Division 1 coverage.

• MD/DO
• Fellowship Training and American Board Certification in Sports Medicine
• Must have or be eligible for Arizona state medical license
• Acceptable completion of an ACGME accredited residency program with current ABMS board certification
• 3-5 years experience working with team sports, Division I collegiate experience highly desirable
• Ability to achieve full and unrestricted hospital privileges at Dignity Health Arizona hospitals
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Ability to make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations

Our Orthopedic team is made up of multiple physicians and advanced practitioners with sub-specialties in Trauma, Sports - Surgical, Non operative Sports, Adult Reconstruction, Hand and Foot and Ankle. In addition, we have a robust Athletic Trainer team that supports multiple schools. Our teams focus is driven around being leaders in education, centered on evidenced based medicine while ensuring consistent collaboration and communication within the team and the community and patients we serve. The DHMG Orthopedic Department works in partnership with multiple school districts and colleges across the Phoenix market to provide medical coverage and athletic trainer support. The Orthopedic department is growing quickly and we are looking for a highly motivated physician to join the team!

Grand Canyon University

The Grand Canyon University Athletics Department is dedicated to using intercollegiate sports as a platform in developing good Christian role models and in embodying the highest standards of excellence in the overall development of its

student-athletes. After beginning a transition from NCAA Division II in 2013, GCU has been a full postseason-eligible D-I member since the 2017-18 school year and has won 70 D-I conference championships, appeared in NCAA Championships in 17 of its 21

sports, won NCAA postseason games in multiple sports and won six of the seven Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Commissioners Cups for the conferences top- performing athletics program. In the 2023-24 academic year, Lopes teams won NCAA tournament games in softball, baseball, mens basketball and mens volleyball and had a top-five individual finisher in outdoor track and field. Starting in July 2025, GCU will transition most of its sports to the highly competitive West Coast Conference (WCC).

Creighton Medical School - Phoenix

Creighton medical school phoenix is the sister medical school based in Nebraska, As of summer of 2021, the medical school has 900 medical students in a beautiful 8 story building on campus. It has a revolutionary Knowledge Donor Program providing life-like cadaveric dissection and learning. You will earn an academic ranking commiserate with work and achievement. Creighton provides full CME, research, and publication support. Future goals will be an orthopedic residency and orthopedic trauma fellowship programs in combination with Chandler Regional Medical Center.
