Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for Labor & Delivery and Postpartum with LDRP skills and a valid NC or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery/Postpartum unit with an average census of 5
• Care for postpartum vaginal and cesarean patients, newborn/couplet care, and GYN surgical patients
• RN to patient ratios are 1:3-4 couplets
• Use EPIC for electronic medical records
• Equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, GE Corometrics Fetal Monitors, GE Panda Warmer, Hugs infant security, and Phillips monitors
• Required to float within the region according to scope of practice, including mid-shift if needed
• Departmental orientation includes NEO and 3 days of unit-based training
• Required to wear navy scrubs
• Support includes a charge nurse, CNA per shift with scrub responsibilities, receptionist/HUC, phlebotomy 24/7, IV/VAT team on days and weekends, case manager as needed, 24/7 RT and hospitalist, OB physicians, and remote neonatologist
• Free parking is available
• Provides comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent LDRP experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, EFM, and NRP
• Must be skilled in fundal massage, newborn care including heel sticks, 24 hr testing, NAS scoring, and lactation support
• Ability to float to all facilities within the designated region as needed
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the home unit
