Position Overview:
HumanEdge Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Travel Registered Nurse for a 13-week LTAC assignment in Knoxville, Tennessee . This night shift role requires a nurse who can provide high-level, consistent care to medically complex patients while supervising and supporting clinical staff.
Conduct a thorough nursing assessment on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care
Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and new staff/orientees
Deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge goals
Initiate discharge planning upon admission and continuously update based on patient progress
Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Maintain timely, accurate documentation in compliance with facility standards and policies
Support and lead team efforts to maintain a safe, respectful, and efficient clinical environment
Delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining responsibility for patient outcomes
Assist with ensuring availability and maintenance of medical supplies and equipment
Take on charge nurse responsibilities as assigned following orientation
Remain up to date on clinical best practices through ongoing professional development
Practice and model safe handling procedures to prevent injury to self, staff, and patients
Current RN license in the state of Tennessee
Minimum of 1 year experience in LTAC, Med/Surg, or step-down unit preferred
BLS required; ACLS preferred
Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Excellent communication and leadership abilities
