The Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform connects thousands of students with online Expository Writing tutors nationwide. As a tutor on the Varsity Tutors Platform, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a real impact on students’ learning journeys—from the comfort of your home. Compensation Base contract rates start at $18/hour and increase for specialized subjects. You’ll earn incrementally higher pay for each session with the same student—reaching up to $40/hour. Paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice. Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like. Responsibilities Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required. Get matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise. Leverage the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features. Invoice for tutoring sessions; the platform handles payments and logistics. What We Look For In a Tutor Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style. Expertise in Expository Writing and the ability to explain concepts clearly. Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles. Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience, and graduate-level education.
